Job summary

Help at Home seeks a Direct Support Professional to provide one-on-one support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. You will help clients build life skills, participate in community activities, and work toward personal goals with emphasis on safety, dignity, and independence.

Starting rate is competitive with a sign-on bonus and flexible scheduling. The role includes paid training, health benefits where offered, paid time off, and mileage reimbursement

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Background checks and in-service training required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Reliable transportation with proof of insurance, vehicle registration, and inspection.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals build daily living skills and participate in community activities.
• Follow each individual's Individual Support Plan (ISP) and report updates to the IDD Program Specialist.
• Assist with daily living activities: cooking, cleaning, grooming, hygiene, transportation.
• Encourage participation in shopping, social events, appointments, and community activities.
• Support individuals toward personal goals and greater independence while promoting dignity and respect.
• Document services and progress accurately and communicate with the care team.
