Job summary

Help at Home is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities.

You will help clients build daily living skills, participate in community activities, and work toward personal goals while ensuring safety, independence, and dignity. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible new hires, with the exact starting rate varying by location and schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Background checks and in-service training required.
• Reliable transportation with proof of insurance, vehicle registration, and inspection.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow each Individual Support Plan.
• Report updates, progress, and concerns to the IDD Program Specialist.
• Assist with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, grooming, hygiene, and transportation.
• Encourage participation in shopping, social events, appointments, and community activities.
• Support individuals toward personal goals and greater independence.
• Promote personal choice, self-advocacy, dignity, and respect.
• Document services, activities, and progress accurately.
• Communicate with team members to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
