Job summary

WellLife Network is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide hands-on care, advocacy, and support to New Yorkers with developmental disabilities and other needs. You will assist with daily living, promote independence, and help individuals access community resources.

The role emphasizes compassionate communication, safety, and collaboration with healthcare teams; a NYS driver license is often required for driving positions and travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency (required).
• Fluent English for client communication.
• New York State Driver’s License with 2+ years of driving experience (required for driving positions).
• Comfort operating a large vehicle (driving positions).
• Experience supporting adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care, encouragement, and advocacy for individuals served.
• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meals.
• Plan and participate in recreational, educational, and social activities; foster community involvement.
• Maintain accurate records including daily notes, progress and incident reports in electronic systems.
