Job summary

WellLife Network is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide hands-on care and advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities in New York communities. You will support daily living, promote independence, and collaborate with a team to help clients achieve their goals.

The role involves driving when required, documentation of progress, and building community connections while upholding dignity and respect for those we serve.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalency is required.
• Fluent in English for client communication.
• New York State Driver’s License with at least 2 years of driving experience is required for driving positions.
• Experience with adults who have intellectual/developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is preferred.
• Patience, compassion, and dedication to empowering others.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and daily living support such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Administer medications as directed and support medical appointments.
• Assist with mobility and accessibility including transfers and use of mobility aids.
• Implement behavioral and emotional support strategies in a respectful manner.
• Plan and participate in community, educational, and recreational activities.
• Maintain accurate records including daily notes and progress reports.
