Job summary

Waypoint Maine, Inc. seeks a Direct Support Professional to support members in developing independence and participating in community activities while maintaining a safe, respectful environment.

You will work with families, guardians, and team members to uphold dignity and rights in all settings. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, willingness to obtain CRMA and Safety Care certifications, and a valid driver’s license.

• Willingness to implement positive behavior support and structured activities.
• Excellent communication with participants, families, coworkers and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals develop skills for independence and community participation.
• Build collaborative rapport and plan activities aligned with goals.
• Respect privacy and confidentiality of participants.
• Support self-determination and advocacy by exploring interests with participants.
• Follow Service and Care Plans and maintain documentation as required.
