Job summary

Waypoint Maine, Inc. seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults in residential and community settings. The DSP will promote independence, teach life skills, and support members in achieving goals outlined in their Person-Centered Plans.

The role emphasizes dignity, safety, confidentiality, and collaboration with families and healthcare partners. The position involves non-exempt hourly work, with a M-F schedule (35-40 hours) and occasional nights/weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must become DSP, CRMA, and Safety Care certified as a primary responsibility of the role.
• Must have a valid driver’s license from the state of residence, with a clean driving record.
• Must be proficient in speaking, reading and writing English.

Responsibilities

• Build safe, professional relationships with members and understand service plans.
• Provide individualized support to promote independence and community engagement.
• Facilitate participation in community activities and social opportunities.
• Assist with daily living tasks and healthy lifestyle practices.
• Support transportation to activities, appointments, and community destinations.
