Waypoint Maine, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional-Community Supports and Membership to help members connect with their community, build relationships, and pursue meaningful activities.

You will support plan-driven care, promote independence, and work with families and guardians in a respectful, confidential manner. The role emphasizes hands-on support, documentation, safety, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality community-based services for

Qualifications

• Willing to work with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Promote self-determination and independence.
• Ability to locate community resources for participants.
• Experience with positive behavior supports preferred.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic information technology skills.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate safe, supportive relationships and understand service plans.
• Provide individualized support to promote independence and community engagement.
• Assist participants in developing meaningful activity calendars.
• Implement Service Implementation Plans and care plans.
• Support participation in community activities and transportation.
• Respect privacy and confidentiality of participants.
• Encourage self-determination and self-advocacy.
• Provide personal care as needed.
• Complete trainings and maintain certifications.
• Attend staff meetings and supervision.
• Maintain accurate documentation in health records and progress notes.
• Administer medications per CRMA and Waypoint procedures.
• Promote a collaborative, professional work environment.
• Communicate with participants, families, coworkers and partners.
• Manage agency funds by recording expenditures as required.
• Comply with mandated reporter laws and applicable regulations.
