Job summary

Waypoint Maine, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential and community settings in Maine.

The role emphasizes dignity, respect, and promoting self-determination, independence, and meaningful community participation. The DSP will document services, follow care plans, assist with daily tasks, provide transportation, and collaborate with families and professionals.

Qualifications

• Desire to work with individuals with intellectual and other disabilities.
• Willingness to implement positive behavior support and structured activities.
• Excellent communication with participants, families, coworkers and other professionals.

Responsibilities

• Develop a collaborative rapport with participants and cultivate a safe, supportive relationship to plan activities aligned with their goals.
• Support individuals to develop skills for independence and community participation.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy; document services daily as required by policy and HCBS/state/federal rules.
• Provide transportation to appointments and activities per policy; support community engagement.
• Administer medications per CRMA guidelines and agency procedures.
• Follow safety policies and report incidents per regulations.
