Job summary

Winter Family Care in Duluth, MN is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to assist individuals in daily living with independence and dignity. This posting covers both Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities with daytime and overnight shifts, and workers must be willing to cover every other weekend.

As a DSP, you will provide person-centered care, help with daily activities, document medications using an electronic MAR, and support community involvement.

Compensation: $20.50 per hour + Applicable Shift Differentials

Applicants may also be considered for opportunities at other Winter Family Care locations based on their preferences.

What You’ll Do

As a Direct Support Professional, you’ll play an important role in supporting individuals in their daily lives while encouraging independence, personal choice, and meaningful community involvement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide individualized, person-centered care and support.
• Assist with daily living activities, personal care, and household responsibilities.
• Support individuals in developing and maintaining independence and life skills.
• Implement positive support strategies and individualized support plans.
• Assist with medication administration and accurately document medications using an electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR).
• Support community participation, appointments, and recreational activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate important updates with the care team.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive living environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to use electronic documentation systems, including an electronic MAR.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, patient, and committed to providing quality care.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
• Willingness to complete required orientation, training, and background study requirements.
• Previous direct care experience is preferred but not required.
