Job summary

Winter Family Care is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals in residential settings in Brookston, MN. Roles include daytime and overnight shifts, with every-other weekend requirements. Compensation starts at $20.50/hour plus applicable shift differentials.

As a DSP, you will provide person-centered care, assist with daily living tasks, and help individuals pursue independence and community involvement. Training and orientation are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to use electronic documentation systems, including an electronic MAR.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, patient, and committed to providing quality care.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
• Willingness to complete required orientation, training, and background study requirements.
• Previous direct care experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, person-centered care and support.
• Assist with daily living activities, personal care, and household responsibilities.
• Support individuals in developing and maintaining independence and life skills.
• Implement positive support strategies and individualized support plans.
• Assist with medication administration and accurately document medications using an electronic MAR.
• Support community participation, appointments, and recreational activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate important updates with the care team.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive living environment.

What You’ll Do

As a Direct Support Professional, you’ll play an important role in supporting individuals in their daily lives while encouraging independence, personal choice, and meaningful community involvement.
