Job summary

Anthurium Human Services is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a 1:1 residential setting in Dakota County, MN. The DSP provides personal care, mobility support, and companionship to a client, following individual plans and safety policies.

Shifts include Wednesdays/Thursdays 3:00pm-11:00pm and weekends 7:00am-3:00pm; pay is $19.00-$22.00 per hour with benefits such as 401(k), PTO, ESST, mileage reimbursement, and paid orientation.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and dependable caregiving in a 1:1 home setting.
• Ability to follow individual support plans and safety policies.
• Comfortable providing hands-on personal care including toileting and hygiene.
• Must be physically able to assist with lifting, transfers, and repositioning.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal cares.
• Support mobility and transfers using adaptive equipment (including Hoyer lifts).
• Encourage independence with appropriate supervision and support.
• Promote community involvement and participation in recreational activities.
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding support as needed.

Location: Dakota County area, MN

Anthurium Human Services is seeking compassionate, dependable, and flexible Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support an individual within a 1:1 residential setting.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships, providing hands‑on support, and working in a calm, person-centered environment.

Position Overview

1:1 support in a residential setting with a client requiring personal cares and daily living support.

Staff hired for this position will be expected to work:

• Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00pm-11:00pm
• Saturdays and Sundays 7:00am-3:00pm

Hours and scheduling may vary based on client needs and staff availability.

Key Responsibilities-

You'll be expected to:

• Assist the individual with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal cares
• Support mobility and transfers using adaptive equipment (including Hoyer lifts)
• Encourage independence while providing appropriate supervision and support
• Support the individual with community involvement and recreational activities
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding support
• Follow individual support plans and agency policies
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time
• Follow individualized support plans and company policies

Qualifications:

• Valid Driver's License, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation
• Clear DHS background check
• Must be physically able to assist with lifting, transfers, repositioning, and use of mechanical lifts
• Comfortable providing hands‑on personal care, including toileting and hygiene assistance
• Ability to work independently in a 1:1 home-based setting
• Ability to complete required training upon hire

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in high-support disability services, CNA work, assisted living, or similar caregiving roles
• Comfortable working independently in a home-based setting
• Experience using Hoyer lifts and other adaptive equipment
• Strong understanding of person‑centered care and dignity‑focused support
• Relationship‑building skills and strong communication
