Job summary

Merrick, Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals to support clients in employment, rehabilitation, and life enrichment within Ramsey County's leading day program.

You’ll help clients develop work tasks, track time, and stay engaged in day-to-day activities. The role offers a fixed Monday–Friday schedule (7:30 am–3:30 pm) with comprehensive health, dental, vision insurance, a 3% 403B match, PTO, life insurance for employees and dependents, and opportunities for wage increases.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 6 months or more of relevant experience.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to use electronic devices, including databases and internet-based applications.
• DOT medical examiner certificate and medical waiver preferred.

• Ability to pass a background check and drug/alcohol test after conditional offer.

Responsibilities

• Encourage clients to reach personal and employment goals, including encouraging clients to work.
• Train, coach, and monitor clients to perform work-related contracts.
• Complete paperwork, documentation, and reports for clients' work.
• Be engaged throughout the day with clients in work and non-work activities or community outings.
• Transfer clients using appropriate body mechanics and assistive equipment such as wheelchairs, Posey belt, walkers, standers, etc.
• Assist with transportation needs, including loading and unloading clients safely.
• Assist clients in personal care as needed (toileting, feeding, meals).
