Job summary

Waypoint is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with disabilities in Maine, fostering independence and community engagement. The role emphasizes dignity, respectful interactions, and teamwork within residential and program settings.

The DSP will support daily living activities, documentation, and collaboration with families, while upholding HIPAA and safety standards under CRMA guidance.

Qualifications

• Must become DSP, CRMA and Safety Care certified as a primary responsibility.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Must be proficient in speaking, reading and writing English.
• Ability to learn beginner level Information Technology skills.
• Desire to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to develop independence and community participation.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services and progress notes.
• Administer medications per CRMA certification requirements.
• Provide transportation to appointments and community activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with team and families to promote safety and wellbeing.
