Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist people with IDD in daily living tasks at home and in the community. You will provide hands-on care, support personal needs, and help clients pursue their goals in a respectful, empowering environment.

Workdays are Monday through Friday with flexible hours; location includes East Bend or Winston-Salem, NC. The role offers on-the-job training and opportunities for professional growth within a mission-driven nonprofit.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.
• High-school diploma or GED required.
• Basic housekeeping, nutrition and safety knowledge.
• Interpersonal skills, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Willingness to use electronic health record systems.

Responsibilities

Position Details

• Workdays: Monday – Friday, flexible hours.

• Compensation: $12.00 – $18.00 per hour.

Your Role

• Provide care in the client’s home and surrounding community.
• Assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, bathing, dressing, and other personal care.
• Support employment endeavors and accompany the client to appointments and errands.
• Help plan and organize daily schedules.
• Document activities and report daily in the electronic health record system.
