Healthcare Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Dining Services Department Manager to lead the dining program at a long-term care facility in Hayward, CA.

The role focuses on delivering high-quality meals, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. The position requires a CDM/DSS or nutrition-related degree, plus relevant management experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• CDM/DSS credential or 4-year degree in Nutrition or Dietetics required.
• Associate degree or higher in food service management or hospitality with relevant coursework.
• Two years of experience in quantity food production/service and supervising personnel preferred.
• Must obtain Food Protection Manager (FPM) within 14 days of employment.
• Must obtain Food Service Manager (FSM) and Long-Term Care Food Service (LTC-FSM) within 60 days.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• COVID-19 vaccination policy compliance required.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Residency within the service area required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the food service team to meet quality and safety standards.
• Maintain records of income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment using HCSG software.
• Conduct staff training, quality checks, and in-service sessions; cover roles as needed.
• Communicate directives from clients, managers, and administrators to staff effectively.
• Ensure safe handling, cleaning protocols, and report equipment needs.
• Follow infection control and handwashing procedures to maintain a sanitary environment.
• Maintain attendance, punctuality, and timely task completion.
• Represent HCSG positively through cooperative interactions with staff and residents.
• Perform all other duties assigned.
