Job summary

Healthcare Services Group is seeking a Food Service Director to lead the dining department at a long-term care facility. You will ensure quality dining services, manage inventory and staff, and adhere to regulations and HCSG policies.

The position requires an associate degree or higher in food service management, with CDM certification preferred and FPM/FSM/LTC-FSM certifications to be obtained within specified timelines. Local residency is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in food service management or hospitality.
• Two years of experience in quantity food production/service and personnel supervision preferred.
• CDM certification preferred.
• FPM certification within 14 days of employment.
• FSM and LTC-FSM certifications within 60 days of employment.
• Residency within the service area required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Basic computer skills for records and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the food service program at a single site, ensuring high food quality, inventory management, safety, and customer service.
• Lead and support the food service team to meet quality and safety standards.
• Maintain records of income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment using HCSG software.
• Conduct staff training, quality control, and in-service sessions while assisting as dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher as needed.
• Communicate directives from client managers, building occupants, and administrators to staff.
• Ensure safe handling of cleaning solutions and report equipment needs or malfunctions promptly.
• Follow infection control and handwashing procedures to maintain a sanitary environment.
• Maintain attendance, punctuality, and timely completion of tasks.
• Represent HCSG positively in interactions with supervisors, staff, residents, and guests.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
