Job summary

Healthcare Services Group, Inc. seeks a Food Service Director to lead the dining program at a long-term care facility. You will oversee food quality, inventory, safety, and resident satisfaction while ensuring adherence to menus and regulations.

You’ll manage staff, training, and day-to-day operations, coordinating with clients and admins to deliver compliant, high-quality dining services in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in food service management; coursework in food service or restaurant management preferred.
• Two years of experience in quantity food production/service and personnel supervision preferred.
• CDM certification preferred or as required by state/county law.
• Must obtain Food Protection Manager (FPM) within the first 14 days of employment.
• Must obtain Food Service Manager (FSM) and LTC-FSM certifications within the first 60 days of employment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Residency within the service area required.
• Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Basic computer skills and ability to maintain records/reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the food service team to meet quality and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of income, expenditures, food supplies, personnel, and equipment using HCSG software.
• Conduct staff training, quality control, and in-service sessions; perform roles of dietary aide, cook, and dishwasher as needed.
• Communicate directives from client managers, building occupants, and administrators to staff.
• Ensure safe handling of cleaning solutions, report equipment needs promptly.
• Follow infection control, universal precautions, and handwashing procedures.
• Maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and timely task completion.
• Represent HCSG positively through interactions with staff, residents, and guests.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
