Job summary

NC State Dining in Raleigh, NC seeks an Assistant General Manager to oversee Fountain Dining Hall operations, ensuring efficient service, guest satisfaction, and adherence to safety standards.

This hands-on role leads permanent, temporary, and student staff, supports recruitment and training, and partners with the General Manager to manage staffing and costs toward budget goals. ServSafe certification is required within 90 days and ongoing health compliance is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Home Economics, Hospitality Management or related discipline with 1 year food management experience; or an Associate’s degree with 3 years of food management experience.
• Some positions may require registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Fountain Dining Hall with independent judgment.
• Supervise, schedule and develop permanent, temporary and student staff; assist recruitment and training.
• Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service and teamwork.
• Maintain ServSafe certification; ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Partner with General Manager to manage staffing and control costs toward budgets.
