Salary Range

$46,756 - $48,410 per year.

Essential Job Duties

Supervise daily dining hall operations during assigned shifts; lead by example in delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of food and beverage quality; ensure policies, procedures, and NC State Dining standards are consistently followed; schedule employees and plan daily staff assignments; communicate clearly with team members, customers, and supervisors; maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment; support training and development of staff; respond to operational needs and challenges with professionalism and adaptability; maintain physical stamina for lifting up to 60 pounds and working in hot and cold conditions.

Other Responsibilities
  • Model the Division’s mission and values, introduce them to employees, and foster a positive workplace.
  • Understand organizational goals and culture and communicate how staff activities impact clients.
  • Adhere to all University policies and Division standard operating practices.
  • Be prepared to work in any NC State Dining department, including special events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Requirement: High School diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in food preparation or service in a commercial kitchen, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous supervisory experience in high‑volume food service or hospitality, knowledge of equipment, cooking methods, food sanitation, safety codes; proficiency with computers; strong written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Required License or Certification: ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment; certification must be maintained as a condition of employment.
  • Valid NC driver’s license not required.
  • Commercial driver’s license not required.
