Job summary

EY is seeking a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will lead end-to-end delivery, stay hands-on with coding and reviews, and guide design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and modern UI frameworks.

You will plan Agile work, coordinate distributed teams, and mentor engineers while partnering with stakeholders. You will support secure development, CI/CD, observability, and production readiness across the engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of technology software development experience with leadership experience.
• Hands-on coding with Java and Spring Boot, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with at least one modern UI framework (Angular or React) and full-stack guidance.
• Experience building, deploying and supporting enterprise apps on major cloud platforms.
• Proficiency with source control, CI/CD, containers, testing, and code-quality gates.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum practices and coordinating distributed teams.
• Mentorship and coaching skills to improve engineering practices.
• Experience with asynchronous/event-driven architectures (Kafka or equivalent).
• Experience with observability tools like Splunk and with Hadoop/Spark/Flink for data processing.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software delivery across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, reviews, debugging, and POCs for complex issues.
• Guide solution design using Java/Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and modern UI frameworks.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery, backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, and demos.
• Coordinate delivery across geographically distributed teams and ensure clear ownership.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, reviews, and career development conversations.
• Partner with product owners, architects, QEs, DevOps, security, and clients to translate requirements into delivery plans.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, and delivery metrics; elevate impediments with actions.
• Promote secure development, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and operational readiness.
• Support event-driven/data-processing solutions using Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, or Flink when required.
