Job summary

EY is seeking a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support while staying close to code and technical decisions.

You will mentor engineers, manage dependencies across time zones, and translate business requirements into achievable delivery plans.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
A minimum of 6 years of technology software development experience with leading project teams or delivery streams.
Hands-on coding with Java and Spring Boot, including microservices and RESTful APIs.
Experience with at least one modern UI framework (Angular or React) to guide full-stack decisions.
Experience building, deploying and supporting enterprise apps on a major cloud platform.
Experience with CI/CD, container deployments, testing and code quality gates.
Experience with Agile/Scrum, sprint planning, backlog management, release planning, and delivery tracking.
Experience leading distributed teams across geographies and cross-functional stakeholders.
Mentorship and coaching skills to improve engineering practices and capabilities.
Experience with asynchronous/event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar) and observability tools like Splunk.
Exposure to Hadoop, Spark, and Flink for batch/real-time processing.
Ability to manage delivery risks, production issues, and multiple priorities; travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end software delivery across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
Remain hands-on with coding, reviews, debugging, and technical proofs-of-concept.
Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, and modern UI frameworks.
Plan and manage Agile delivery including backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, and demos.
Coordinate work across geographically distributed teams and ensure clear ownership and timely decisions.
Mentor engineers through coaching, design reviews, and career development conversations.
Partner with product owners, architects, QA, DevOps, and security to translate requirements into delivery plans.
Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, and delivery metrics; escalate impediments with actions.
Promote secure development, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and post-production readiness.
Support event-driven/data-processing solutions using Kafka/Hadoop/Spark/Flink when required.
