Job summary

EY seeks a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support, while remaining close to code and decisions.

You will coordinate delivery across geographically distributed teams, mentor engineers, manage dependencies, and communicate with stakeholders. Strong Java/Spring Boot, UI framework, and cloud experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• 6+ years of technology software development experience, including leading project teams or major delivery workstreams.
• Hands-on coding experience with Java and Spring Boot, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with at least one modern UI framework, preferably Angular or React, and guiding full-stack engineering decisions.
• Experience building, reviewing, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise apps on a major cloud platform.
• Proficiency with source control, build automation, CI/CD, container-based deployments, testing, and code-quality gates.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery practices and distributed team coordination.
• Ability to manage delivery risks, production issues, and client communications in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of software engineering work across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, and technical problem solving.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, Angular or React, databases, and cloud-native patterns.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery with backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, and reviews.
• Coordinate work across geographically distributed teams and ensure clear ownership and handoffs.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, reviews, and career development conversations.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, quality engineering, DevOps, and clients to translate requirements into delivery plans.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, and delivery metrics; communicate progress and elevate impediments.
• Promote secure development, CI/CD, observability, and operational readiness across the lifecycle.
• Support event-driven and data-processing solutions when required.
