Job summary

EY in the United States is seeking a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will guide distributed teams, design microservices with Java/Spring Boot, and ensure delivery across planning, development, testing, and production support.

You'll mentor engineers, partner with product owners and clients, drive Agile delivery, and promote secure, scalable cloud-based solutions using modern UI frameworks like Angular or React.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6+ years of technology software development experience, including leadership of project teams or major delivery workstreams.
• Hands-on coding experience with Java and Spring Boot, including microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with a modern UI framework, preferably Angular or React, and guiding full-stack engineering decisions.
• Experience deploying and supporting enterprise applications on a major cloud platform.
• Knowledge of source control, CI/CD, containers, unit/integration testing, and code-quality gates.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum delivery practices, including sprint planning, estimation, backlog management, release planning, and delivery tracking.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of software engineering work across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, proofs-of-concept, and solving complex engineering issues.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, Angular or React, databases, and cloud-native patterns.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, and ceremonies.
• Coordinate work across geographically distributed teams and time zones with clear ownership and handoffs.
• Mentor engineers through technical coaching, design reviews, and career development conversations.
• Partner with product owners, architects, QA, DevOps, security, and client stakeholders to translate requirements into delivery plans.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, issues, and delivery metrics; elevate impediments with actions.
