Job summary

EY in the United States is seeking a Manager to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership in the Service Delivery Center. You will guide distributed teams through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support while staying close to code decisions.

You will mentor engineers, manage dependencies, and translate business requirements into delivery plans, partnering with product owners and stakeholders across geographies. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6+ years of technology software delivery experience including leading project teams or delivery workstreams.
• Hands-on coding with Java and Spring Boot, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with a modern UI framework (Angular or React) and full-stack guidance.
• Experience deploying enterprise apps on a major cloud platform.
• Experience with CI/CD, containers, testing, and code-quality practices.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery and distributed teams across geographies.
• Mentorship and coaching experience with engineering teams.
• Experience with asynchronous/event-driven architectures (Kafka, etc.) and observability tools (Splunk).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software delivery across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, reviews, debugging, and technical proofs-of-concept.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, and UI frameworks.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery: backlog, sprint planning, estimates, demos, and releases.
• Coordinate work across geographic locations and time zones with clear ownership.
• Mentor engineers, perform design reviews, and support career development.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, DevOps, security, and clients.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, and delivery metrics; elevate impediments with actions.
• Promote secure development, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and operations readiness.
• Support data-processing and event-driven solutions where required.
