Job summary

EY is seeking a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support while remaining close to code and decisions.

You will mentor engineers, manage dependencies and risks, and partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into delivery plans. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6+ years of technology software development experience with leading project teams or delivery workstreams.
• Hands-on coding with Java and Spring Boot, microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with modern UI frameworks, preferably Angular or React.
• Experience building and supporting enterprise apps on major cloud platforms.
• Proficiency with CI/CD, container deployments, testing, and code quality gates.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery, backlog management, and release planning.
• Experience coordinating distributed teams across geographies and stakeholders.
• Mentorship and coaching to improve engineering practices.
• Experience with asynchronous/event-driven architectures (Kafka or equivalent).
• Experience with logging/monitoring (Splunk) and data processing tools (Hadoop/Spark/Flink).
• Ability to manage delivery risks and communications; willing to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software delivery across planning, design, development, testing, release and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, reviews, troubleshooting, and technical proof-of-concepts.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices and cloud-native patterns.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery with backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, and demos.
• Coordinate work across geographically distributed teams and ensure clear ownership.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, design reviews and career development conversations.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, DevOps, security and other stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks and delivery metrics; communicate progress and risks.
• Promote secure development, automated testing, CI/CD, observability and operational readiness.
• Support event-driven/data-processing solutions using Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, Flink when required.
