Job summary

EY is seeking a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support while staying close to code decisions.

You will mentor engineers, manage dependencies and risks, and coordinate delivery across geographically distributed teams across the US, with up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering/IS or related field.
• 6+ years of technology software development experience with leading project teams/delivery workstreams.
• Hands-on coding with Java and Spring Boot including microservices & REST APIs.
• Experience with Angular or React and full-stack engineering decisions.
• Experience with enterprise apps on a major cloud platform.
• CI/CD, containers, testing, and code-quality gates experience.
• Agile/Scrum delivery practices and distributed-team coordination.
• Mentorship and coaching skills to improve engineering practices.
• Experience with Kafka or similar messaging and event streaming platforms.
• Experience with logging/monitoring (Splunk) and observability.
• Knowledge of Hadoop/Spark/Flink for batch/real-time processing.
• Travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software delivery across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, reviews, debugging, and POC work.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native patterns.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery, including backlog, sprints, estimation, and demos.
• Coordinate work across geographically distributed teams and time zones.
• Mentor engineers with technical coaching, reviews, and career development.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, DevOps, security, and clients.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, and delivery metrics; elevate impediments.
• Promote secure development, CI/CD, observability, and operational readiness.
• Support data-processing solutions with Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, Flink as needed.
