Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Specialist Digital Controls and Embedded Software Engineer to join our Electrical Critical Power Solutions team. This hybrid role requires on-site work at the Raleigh, NC facility with relocation assistance within the United States.

You will design real-time DSP algorithms for high‑power three‑phase UPS and energy storage products, collaborate with global teams, and contribute across the product lifecycle from concept to production, in a dynamic, safety‑conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution with minimum 8 years work industry work experience in real‑time digital controls and algorithms for power electronics or industrial products OR
• MS in Electrical or related Engineering degree from an accredited institution with minimum 5 years of industry work experience in real‑time digital controls and algorithms for power electronics or industrial products OR
• PhD in Electrical or related engineering degree from an accredited institution with minimum 2 years of industry work experience in real‑time digital controls and algorithms for power electronics or industrial products.
• If needed H1B visa transfer sponsorship assistance will be provided for a qualified candidate currently residing and employed on a H1B in the USA.

Responsibilities

• Launch critical power infrastructure products meeting requirements.
• Provide guidance to technical project teams.
• Collaborate with global product teams on performance and safety.
• Develop DSP control algorithms for power conversion.
• Verify designs via simulations using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Lead validation using testbeds and OPAL-RT.
• Contribute to new product development with cross‑functional teams.
• Apply engineering best practices to solve complex problems.
