Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, WV seeks a Dietetic Assistant/cafeteria cashier relief for Ruby Cafeteria and related Nutrition Department duties. Primary assignment includes cashier relief and support across the Ruby Cafeteria, Doctor’s Dining, and other Nutrition areas as needed by management.

Relief hours vary, with alternating weekends and holidays. The role emphasizes exceptional customer service, adherence to food safety, and accurate cash handling within department

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) from Monongalia County Health Department (MCHD) prior to starting or obtain a temporary FSWP and a permanent FSWP within 1 month of start date.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle cash, credit cards and meal vouchers per department policies.
• Operate the register system accurately, including correct change and deposits.
• Review menu, pricing and register screen before each shift.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked work area.
• Follow recipes and techniques when preparing beverages.
• Assemble supplies for catered events and set up, deliver, serve and clean them as required.
• Interact with customers professionally; for catered events ensure service is quiet and unobtrusive.
• Inspect received items, reject or document and credit unacceptable products.
• Coordinate with vendors on deliveries and storage.
• Follow safety procedures when operating equipment and maintain inventory to par levels.
• Dietetic Assistant duties may be assigned as needed.
