Job summary

Republic Services in Winston-Salem, NC seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician A to diagnose and repair diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, brakes, engines and HVAC systems. You’ll work on state-of-the-art fleets, gain exposure to aftertreatment and electrical diagnostics, with opportunities for training and career growth.

The role emphasizes servicing heavy trucks, adherence to safety, and contributing to community and environmental goals.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• LNG and/or CNG experience is a plus but not required.
• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; Air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Engine repair and diagnostics.
• Complete understanding of diesel fuel systems and fuel systems diagnostics.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning systems diagnostics and repair.
• Complete understanding of Aftertreatment systems, REGEN and diagnostics.
• Able to diagnose electrical concerns with scan tools.
• Line maintenance, welding and fabrication.
• Identifies the source of the malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools.
• Completes applicable Company training programs.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
