Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician A in South Carolina to repair and maintain diesel and non‑diesel trucks and refuse bodies. You will work with advanced systems, including hydraulics, brakes, engines and HVAC, ensuring high availability for our fleet and drivers.

This role offers training on new technologies, a stable night shift, and a clear path for growth within a leading environmental services company.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi‑system issues with strong technical expertise.
• 5–7 years' experience repairing heavy‑duty trucks.
• Inspect/repair major truck systems with limited supervision.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1–T8) are a plus.
• LNG and/or CNG experience is a plus.
• Class B or higher CDL is a plus, CDL B preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains advanced knowledge of vehicle components and systems and performs complex repair maintenance on‑site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Engine repair and diagnostics.
• Fuel systems diagnostics and Aftertreatment systems knowledge.
• Diagnose electrical concerns with scan tools and perform line maintenance, welding and fabrication.
