Job summary

Republic Services in Statesville, NC seeks a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and gasoline trucks, chassis components, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, HVAC, suspension, drive train and steering. Under supervision you will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose multi-system issues, and safely provide road service when needed.

ASE certifications (T1–T8) are a plus; CDL is a plus; 3–5 years of technician experience or graduating from automotive college

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks or related equipment.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of technician experience or graduating from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next 3 months.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a working knowledge and proficiency in vehicle components and systems.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning.
• Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
• Safely provides road service to ensure equipment is returned to operation.
• Identifies malfunctions using electronic tools.
• Completes Company training programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
