Job summary

Republic Services in Bethany Beach, DE is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, and brake systems. The role covers engine work, HVAC, suspension, drive train, and steering, with on-site and road service as needed.

Under supervision, you will tackle diverse repair tasks, receive training on new technologies, and contribute to a mobile fleet that keeps drivers on their routes.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues with technical proficiency.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with Class 1-5 light/medium and heavy-duty Class 7-8 equipment is a plus.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and proficiency in vehicle components and systems for preventive and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning.
• Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
• Safely provides road service to ensure equipment is returned to operation safely and efficiently.
• Identifies the source of malfunctions using electronic tools.
• Completes applicable Company training programs.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
