Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician in Houma, LA to ensure a safe, reliable fleet through diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on diesel equipment. The role requires hands-on experience with reefer/refrigeration systems and the willingness to travel for training.

Qualifications

• 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician.
• TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications.
• Willingness to travel for training provided by US Foods.
• Ability to read and understand technical/service manuals.
• Own personal hand tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with fleet maintenance software is preferred.
• Welding ability is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and repair diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates).
• Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
• Receive road calls, coordinate with third-party vendors and plan actions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment per safety guidelines.
• Document repairs and parts used in fleet maintenance software.
• Backup to other maintenance staff and mentor others.
• Accept increased responsibilities and certifications as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
