Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to ensure a safe, reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel and reefer equipment at our Lacombe, LA facility.

You will diagnose, rebuild, replace components, document work in the fleet software, and mentor other shop personnel. Travel for training may be required; TK/Carrier certifications are preferred. Strong safety culture and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician. TK/Carrier Certifications.
• Must be willing to travel and attend training provided by US Foods.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to reefer equipment repairs.
• Demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Prior experience administering a PM program.
• Must furnish own personal hand tools.
• Able to read and write legibly with basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to read and understand technical and online service manuals.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience using fleet maintenance software preferred.
• Welding ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates).
• Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
• Receive road calls, coordinate with third party vendors and plan actions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment per safety rules.
• Document repairs and parts used in fleet maintenance software.
• Backup to other maintenance shop personnel.
• Mentor other maintenance shop personnel.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
