Job summary

US Foods is seeking a skilled Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician to maintain and repair diesel fleet equipment at our Louisiana facility. The role requires hands-on repair, preventative maintenance, and use of fleet software for documentation. Travel for training and strong problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a Fleet Reefer/Refrigeration technician.
• TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certifications.
• Willing to travel and attend training provided by US Foods.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to reefer equipment repairs.
• Demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience administering preventive maintenance programs.
• Must furnish own personal hand tools.
• Able to read and write legibly and perform basic math.
• Ability to read and understand technical/service manuals.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience using fleet maintenance software preferred.
• Welding ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates).
• Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
• Receive road calls, coordinate with third-party vendors and plan actions with business partners.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per safety regulations and guidelines.
• Document equipment repair and parts used using fleet maintenance software on a tablet.
• Backup to other maintenance shop personnel.
• Mentor other maintenance shop personnel.
• Assume increased responsibility and certificates as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
