Job summary

Penske in Madison, AL is seeking a Technician to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet. You will learn Penske’s maintenance processes and hands-on techniques while advancing your skills with industry-certified training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• 1-2 years automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to solve problems and use tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills.
• Understand and comply with Penske safety policies (DOT, OSHA).
• DOT requirements: MVR check, DOT physical, safety history, and background checks.
• Willingness to work the specified schedule and location; potential travel for training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure vehicles are safe for customers.
• Use Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance and related tasks such as tire rotation and lubrication on gas and diesel engines.
• Collaborate with your manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training.
• Handle other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
