Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. in Albany, NY is seeking an Automotive Technician to perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet.

You’ll use Penske tools, perform basic diagnostics, and learn through our technician training programs while ensuring safety and reliability on all vehicles. Roles require basic repair experience, a valid license, and flexibility in the listed shift schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification preferred in vehicle repair.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to solve problems and use tools effectively.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• The associate must understand Penske safety and maintenance policies and wear required PPE.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure vehicle safety for customers.
• Use Penske’s tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as tire rotation and lubrication on gas and diesel engines.
• Partner with manager to learn new skills via technician training and coaching.
• Handle other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
