Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician in Duluth, GA to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain medium- and heavy-duty trucks. Join a team that values craftsmanship and offers growth opportunities within a network of dealerships.

You will mentor technicians, lead projects, and stay current with OEM bulletins while delivering high-quality work and maintaining safety standards across the shop.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience (10+ years preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (CDL is a plus).
• Cummins Engine Repair Certification (Required).
• Master Technician certifications in multiple areas preferred.
• ASE Certifications are a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with email, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and the ability to learn and use dealership management and diagnostic software.
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform complete engine and transmission rebuilds.
• Complete preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs.
• Accurately document repairs and diagnostic findings.
• Communicate with Parts and Service teams to ensure repairs stay on schedule.
• Identify additional maintenance or safety concerns for customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership standards.
• Stay current on OEM technical bulletins and industry best practices.
• Mentor apprentice technicians and help lead the team when needed.
