Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers in Duluth, GA is seeking an experienced Diesel Engine Technician to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain medium- and heavy-duty trucks in our Engine Shop. You will mentor teammates and help lead projects to keep trucks on the road with quality workmanship.

You will stay current on OEM bulletins, follow repair procedures, document findings, and collaborate with Parts and Service to meet schedules. This role offers growth within a respected truck dealer network.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience (10+ years preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Cummins Engine Repair Certification is required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to use dealership management and diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform complete engine and transmission rebuilds.
• Complete preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs.
• Accurately document repairs and diagnostic findings.
• Communicate with Parts and Service teams to ensure repairs stay on schedule.
• Mentor apprentice technicians and help lead the team when needed.
