Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers in Duluth, GA is seeking a Diesel Technician to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain medium- and heavy-duty trucks. You will join the Engine Shop, mentor teammates, and lead projects while advancing your career in a team that values quality craftsmanship.

The role requires diagnosing engines, performing rebuilds, and maintaining documentation. CDL is a plus; Cummins certification is required, with opportunities to grow within a network of 30 dealerships across the region.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience (10+ years preferred).
• Cummins Engine Repair Certification is required.
• Master Technician certifications in multiple areas preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform complete engine and transmission rebuilds.
• Complete preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs.
• Accurately document repairs and diagnostic findings.
• Communicate with Parts and Service teams to ensure repairs stay on schedule.
• Identify additional maintenance or safety concerns for customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership standards.
• Stay current on OEM technical bulletins and industry best practices.
• Mentor apprentice technicians and help lead the team when needed.
