Job summary

Penske is hiring an entry-level Diesel Technician Mechanic III at the Auburn, MA location. Starting pay is $31.51 per hour with a Monday–Friday, 2:30pm–11:00pm shift.

You will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet, using Penske’s training and tools to keep vehicles on the road. The role suits individuals with mechanical aptitude, a high school diploma, and interest in a stable career with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
• The ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills and DOT/OSHA safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Performing preventative maintenance repairs such as tire rotations and lubrication on gas and diesel engines.
• Partnering with your manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and coaching.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
