Penske Auburn AL is seeking an entry-level Diesel Technician/Mechanic III to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet. You’ll work with our newest vehicles and gain hands-on experience.

You’ll learn from experienced supervisors and master technicians, with access to Penske’s technician training and certification programs to grow your career. This role offers stability and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Ability to use tools and diagnose problems.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and outdoors.
• Must comply with DOT/OSHA safety policies and pass background checks and drug screen.
• Regular, predictable attendance required.
• Driver qualification file and DOT/FMCSA considerations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and safe-guard vehicles for customers.
• Log, research and complete repairs using Penske tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance and basic diagnostics.
• Learn new skills through Penske training.
• Assist with other tasks as assigned.
