Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Technician to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet. You’ll work with a team of experienced technicians, using Penske’s tools and diagnostic equipment to keep vehicles safe and on the road.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to use tools and solve problems.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Performing preventative maintenance repairs such as tire rotation and lubrication on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
• Partnering with your manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
