Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. is looking for a skilled Technician in Ashland, VA to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet. You will log repairs, run basic diagnostics, and learn Penske training programs to advance your career.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to solve problems and use tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outdoors.
• Basic computer skills.
• Follow Penske safety and maintenance policies (DOT/OSHA).

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers.
• Using Penske's tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Performing preventative maintenance—replacing or rotating tires and lubricating components, plus some electrical and cooling system work on gas and diesel engines.
• Partnering with your manager to learn new skills through Penske's technician training.
• Handling other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
