Job summary

Penske is seeking a Diesel Technician/Mechanic III - Entry Level in Ashland, VA. You will perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet and learn Penske's maintenance processes and technology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational/technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Comfort with using tools and basic diagnostics.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to train and grow within Penske.
• Must comply with DOT/OSHA safety policies and Penske safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Log, research, and complete repairs using Penske tools and diagnostics.
• Perform preventive maintenance like tire rotation and lubrication on gas/diesel vehicles.
• Learn new skills with manager guidance and hands-on coaching.
• Assist with other projects as assigned by supervisor.
