Penske Truck Leasing is seeking an experienced Technician II in California to perform preventive maintenance and major repairs on a diverse fleet. You will work independently yet mentor others while expanding your skills through Penske's training programs.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and the use of advanced maintenance technology. A strong candidate has 3+ years in vehicle maintenance, a valid license, and a commitment to superior customer service.

Qualifications

• 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting major components; ASE 608/609 certifications preferred
• Experienced using tools of the trade (diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools)
• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to solve problems and provide excellent customer service and communication
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
• Basic computer skills
• Adherence to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety policies; use of tools and PPE
• Willingness to travel within the district and pass background/drug screenings

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and keeping vehicles safe for customers
• Performing preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers with minimal supervision
• Repairing and diagnosing engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, and fuel systems
• Keeping work area clean and safe
• Using Penske tools and technologies for diagnostics and repairs
• Learning new skills through Penske technician training
• Working on additional projects as assigned by supervisor
