Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing/Transportation Solutions in Tempe, AZ is seeking an experienced Technician II to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet. You will work independently on major and minor repairs, conduct road tests, and mentor new technicians while learning advanced vehicle maintenance processes.

This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and growth through Penske training and access to cutting-edge tools.

Qualifications

• 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials) including OEM training and ASE (608/609) certifications preferred
• Experienced using tools of the trade (diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools)
• Valid driver’s license required
• DOT/OSHA safety and Penske policies compliance required

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure vehicles are safe for customers
• Perform preventive maintenance with little supervision
• Repair and troubleshoot engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel systems
• Keep work area clean and safe
• Use Penske tools to log, research and complete repairs, including diagnostics
• Learn new skills through Penske technician training
• Take on additional tasks as assigned by supervisor
