Job summary

Penske is seeking an entry-level Diesel Technician/Mechanic III to maintain and diagnose a variety of vehicles. You’ll work under experienced supervisors, learn Penske’s maintenance processes, and receive hands-on coaching as you grow your skills.

This role offers training through Penske’s Technician Certification Program, a path to advanced capabilities, and opportunities for career growth within a supportive, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• 1–2 years automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and outdoors.
• Must follow safety policies and DOT/OSHA guidelines.
• Willingness to pass background checks and drug screening as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining vehicles and ensuring safety for customers.
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Performing preventative maintenance repairs and basic component work on gas and diesel engines.
• Collaborating with your manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training.
• Assisting with other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
