Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers in Atlanta South (College Park) is seeking an experienced Diesel Engine Technician to diagnose, rebuild, and maintain medium- and heavy-duty trucks while working with some of the best technicians in the industry. You'll diagnose and repair engines, mentor teammates, and grow your career within a shop that values quality craftsmanship.

In this role, you'll perform engine and transmission rebuilds, preventative maintenance, document findings, and stay current with OEM

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience (10+ years preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (CDL is a plus)
  • Master Technician certifications in multiple areas preferred
  • ASE Certifications are a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with email, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and the ability to learn and use dealership management and diagnostic software
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems.
  • Perform complete engine and transmission rebuilds.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs.
  • Accurately document repairs and diagnostic findings.
  • Communicate with Parts and Service teams to ensure repairs stay on schedule.
  • Identify additional maintenance or safety concerns for customers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership standards.
  • Stay current on OEM technical bulletins and industry best practices.
  • Mentor apprentice technicians and help lead the team when needed.
