Job summary

Nextran Truck Centers in Georgia is seeking a Diesel Engine Technician to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain medium- and heavy-duty trucks within our Engine Shop. You will work with a team that values craftsmanship and continuous learning.

You will also mentor apprentices, lead projects when needed, and stay current on OEM bulletins and best practices while delivering high-quality work. A CDL is a plus; strong mechanical aptitude is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience (10+ years preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
• Master Technician certifications in multiple areas preferred.
• ASE Certifications are a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient with email, Outlook, Word, Excel; ability to learn dealership software.
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform complete engine and transmission rebuilds.
• Complete preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs.
• Document repairs and diagnostic findings.
• Communicate with Parts and Service teams to ensure repairs stay on schedule.
• Identify additional maintenance or safety concerns for customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership standards.
• Stay current on OEM technical bulletins and industry best practices.
• Mentor apprentice technicians and help lead the team when needed.
